A New Chapter of Seoul Light Begins This Summer
Since its dazzling debut in 2019, Seoul Light at DDP has become a signature night-time media art festival that transforms Seoul's skyline with light, technology, and imagination. For the first time ever, Seoul Light expands its presence into the summer season with “Seoul Light DDP 2025 Summer”, running for 11 nights from July 31st.
This summer’s theme, “TIMESCAPE: Patterns of Light,” invites audiences to experience memories and emotions embedded in the flow of time, expressed through luminous patterns gliding over water. As light and sound blend with art and cutting-edge technology, the boundaries between city and nature, past and future, imagination and reality are poetically blurred.

A Journey Through Seven Chapters of Light
TIMESCAPE Part 1: Fluid Memory
A beam of light strikes the ancient Seoul City Wall, awakening memories long asleep in stone. As it travels through time, the light reimagines the past in shimmering water-like forms and moves boldly toward the future.
TIMESCAPE Part 2: Light Drops
Water droplets rest on the grass, glowing softly like captured moonlight. Radiating from the center, light ripples through the space, telling the story of life’s quiet beginnings.
TIMESCAPE Part 3: Beam Trace
A stream of light portraying creation and circulation stretches across the night sky. Through lasers and fog, this installation evokes the radiant journey of light flowing through time and generations.
TIMESCAPE Part 4: Rhythm in Droplets
Light and water interact in dynamic waves that respond to movement. This real-time interactive experience transforms your steps into rippling light across two thematic displays.
TIMESCAPE Part 5: Rhythm in Fog
In a newly imagined “water space” at DDP, starlike fragments of light cascade through fog, softening the borders of space and perception. It delivers an unfamiliar rhythm born from the blend of senses.
TIMESCAPE Part 6: Into the Waves of Light
Light patterns drawn on the DDP’s façade depict a surreal trajectory of light across dimensions. Step into this radiant stream as waves of glowing energy envelop you in a dreamlike moment.
TIMESCAPE Part 7: Flux
An immersive media art installation by renowned artist Ksawery Komputery, Flux explores the evolution of communication technology through the fusion of data, light, and sound. This work meditates on the flow between digital and physical realities.

Special Opening Event: July 31st at 7:30 PM
The festival opened with a vibrant live DJ performance that energized the entire DDP plaza, setting an electric mood for the evening. This was followed by a breathtaking hanbok fashion show by Geumdanje × OWOUR, seamlessly blending traditional Korean attire with avant-garde media art. The fusion of light, sound, and fabric created a stunning visual spectacle that perfectly captured the spirit of Seoul Light DDP 2025 Summer. It was an unforgettable start to 11 nights of luminous wonder.
