- Kakao and Naver certificates (used for log in)
If you have lived in Korea for a long time, you know that certificates are often used in Korea, for log-in purposes or for payment authorization. In another article, we talked about the 공동인증서(구 공인인증서) Digital Certificate or Digital signature if you are interested in that one, then check that article, however, today we will talk about Kakao and Naver certificates. Those are pretty similar, and most governmental websites do use them to log in. Let's see what these two mean, and how to activate and use them! Kakao Talk certificate (카카오 인증) The KakaoTalk wallet contains certificates, ID cards, and simple payment information. KakaoTalk wallet can be found in the KakaoTalk More tab (3 dots in the lower bar), when you open it, it will be the above-written Wallet. Before you may use the wallet, you must agree to the terms and conditions and confirm your identity. Kakao certificates, different credentials, and ID cards are all kept in the wallet. In cases where personal identity, authentication, and digital signature are necessary, users can utilize the Kakao certificate in the wallet instead of the existing public certificate. After you have activated your bank, next to the wallet will be a certificate sign, that you can press. When you press it, you have to agree with the terms and conditions and then put in your phone number. You will receive a code to input. After inputting the code, the certificate will be given to you. Keep in mind that you will have to have a phone number on your own name (the same as on your ID card, Bank, and passport), the ID card, and also activate the wallet on Kakao Talk. To use it, when you login into some application, you will receive a message on Kakao Talk. You have to press on the message which will open a panel with your own information and credentials. Agree with the terms and conditions and then press 인증 they will confirm your information and you will be able to go back to the website and log in. The certificate will expire at a certain time, the time is written on Kakao Talk when you press on the certificate icon in the More Tab menu. The certificate includes your name, date of birth, and expiration date. Naver Certificate This certificate works in the same way, however, instead of making a wallet first, you will need to verify your identity. This will be fairly quick if you are already in Korea and have a valid Korean phone number obtained through your ARC (Alien Registration Card). Go to Naver and sign in, if you don't have an account, you can make one very easily here. Go to your Account Info and select "Edit" from the drop-down menu. Select "Verify" from the drop-down menu. To proceed with phone number verification, select Phone (휴대폰), check the agreement box, and click the Confirm (확인) button. In the pop-up box, complete the form. Check all of the Terms and Agreement elements, fill in the blanks as needed, and make sure to select Foreigner (외국인). Choose your phone provider, enter your phone number, and then click the certification (인증) button to request a verification code through text message. Click confirm (확인) after entering the verification code in the "Certification Number" field. To make your certificate Go to the Naver website, after logging in, https://ekyc.naver.com/home/main the 인증서 page will open. When the page opens press 인증서 발급하기 Then, agree to the Terms and Conditions Input your name, phone number and press the button (재요청) After receiving the number by message input, it and press Confirm (확인) To use it, you will need the phone password, fingerprint, or other forms of confirmation that you use. To use it, when you want to log in press on the message then check the terms and conditions box and then verify your name and information and press confirm (확인), then go back to the page and the login is done. These types of logins will be used very often, on different websites, so make sure to have at least one of them!

As we most of those who are full employees in Korea, they already know about the tax return policy which should be reported each end of January, called 연말정산. This is usually made through the home tax 국세청 site, where you need to download the pdf with the tax report based on your consumption and submitted to your accounting office from your company. These pdf files are available to download only during a certain period during the end of January beginning of February. This is an easy process, as usual, the accountant of each company will announce to the workers when they have to submit these papers. But in the case of those who either are freelancers or they did extra part-time from which earning 3.33% taxes was deducted, there is a different period when you should report the taxes called 소득금액. This tax report and recalculation of the income is reported each May and the report is checked by end of April on the same site, called home tax. You may submit an inquiry for the calculation report to be sent by post to your home. Through this, you can then submit the report in case you need to get or pay some money back. Steps to follow for a tax return: Log in to hometax page - my홈텍스 - check the section 연말정산/정려금/학지금-지급명세서 등/제출내역 Those who failed to report the taxes during this period can pay a third party to do the tax report for them and return the money. There are a couple of such service accounting platforms where you calculate your taxes for free and after you pay an amount, depending on how much money you need to get back to be able to get your money back. One example of such service is 삼쩜삼 which literally means 3.3 (the number of the tax deducted for freelancing and part-time jobs). Hometax official website Hometax Android app Hometax iOS app

Professional skincare is something that most Koreans have tried at least once in their life and Korean cosmetic surgeons and doctors are quite known for their perfect skills. - Types of hospitals in Korea. Where do you need to go for your medical care
Everyone needs to know where to go when they are sick! No matter if you are in a foreign country the knowledge of hospitals and clinics is always a plus. Below we made sure you have all the information available for your needs. In Korea, hospitals are divided into four categories: clinic (개인병원, 의원), hospital (병원), general hospital (종합병원), and university hospital (대학병원). A university hospital is a large facility with a wide range of services and departments that often houses the most skilled and knowledgeable specialists. In every large city, emergency and outpatient services are accessible at general and university hospitals. Outside of an emergency, it may be more convenient to go to a smaller hospital or specialty clinic because there are so many of them and you will save time. Koreans will go to the hospital rather than the local doctor for minor problems such as the common cold or flu. How to get there and what do you need to present? For clinics or hospitals, the procedure is the same. At the reception counter, you'll need to show your ID card, or, if you're a tourist, your passport. Basic treatment fees are due and payable after your consultation/treatment, though they may increase based on whether or not X-rays, ultrasounds, or other tests are required. If required, follow-up consultations will be scheduled as well. Because every foreigner residing in Korea for more than 6 months is mandatorily subscribed for the National Health Insurance, the deductions or discounts will be done on the spot, by presenting just your ID card (sometimes they may ask for the insurance card, but not all the time). If you are given a prescription, you must take it to a pharmacy, which is usually located near the hospital, because hospitals are not permitted to supply medication for home use. Any medication you receive from a pharmacy must be paid for on the spot. What should you look for, on the application or streets to go there? When you want to go to see a doctor, search for these words near your home and go to the closest one. With insurance, the National Health Insurance, the consultation shouldn't be more than 5,000 - 10,000 KRW depending on the doctor and clinic, and medicine not be more than 4,000 - 15,000 KRW. These prices are just for your information so make sure you do have enough money. And always remember if you don't have the insurance paid on time, or you don't have one that works in Korea, the price can be double. Internist or 내과 Those who have concerns about their internal organs should see an internist. If you have a cold, or some allergy you should also go there. Orthopedic or 정형 외과 Orthopedics is a term used to describe a type of medicine that focuses on your bones, muscles, or joints, so if you have those problems, you should go there. ENT/Otolaryngology or 이비인후과 Deals with the surgical and medical treatment of head and neck problems. Pediatric or 소아과 Medical care for newborns and children is provided by pediatricians. Ob-gyn or 산부인과 As a woman, you should visit this clinic if you have concerns or if you are pregnant. Dermatologist or 피부과 If you have skin problems, go to this clinic to see a dermatologist who specializes in this area. Clinic for Plastic Surgery or 성형 외과 Concerns about plastic or reconstructive surgery or if you want to do something related to this field you should visit them. Optometrist or 안과 If you have vision or eye difficulties, see an optometrist at this facility. South Korean pharmacies are called 약국 To find one search for the sign or just for the big cross like in any other country. Medication ordered by doctors can be bought at a neighboring drugstore, just as it is in the hospital's pharmacy. The medication you receive will most likely be packaged in small plastic bags containing a mixture of tablets — each box will have one dosage, and it will be numbered based on time of day, sometimes your name will be on them as well. Because it isn't usually labelled on the envelope you received it in, be sure you know when and how to take it before you leave. You can ask the pharmacist if they don't write it on the package. You'll have to go back to the doctor if you need a repeat prescription. Non-prescription medications such as pain relievers, cold and flu treatment, birth control, and basic first-aid supplies are also available at pharmacies. Dentists in South Korea are called 치과의사 They give orthodontic and oral care that is thought to be of excellent quality. Dental work is included in Korean health insurance if it is done for health reasons rather than for cosmetic reasons. Glasses/Lens stores called 안경 소매점업 They are professionals who specialize in the field of vision correction. In Korea, optometrists are plentiful, and eye care is often of high quality and reasonably priced. Without making an appointment, you can stroll into an optician's office and request an eye exam. Not to mention that a lot of lens or glasses shops have their own doctors inside. Contact lens services are easily available, and prescription glasses can be created in less than an hour. In comparison to many western countries, these are particularly inexpensive. Consult an eye specialist 안과의사 for treatment of eye problems and infections. Complementary and alternative medicine Acupuncture and herbal remedies are prevalent therapies in Oriental medicine in Korea. Traditional medicine practitioners are common, and various ginseng-based medicines are available. Emergency and ambulances If you are in an accident and you need to call an ambulance but you don't know the number you can say, Call an ambulance! - 구급차 좀 불러주세요! 119 (Fire & Ambulance). Sometimes ambulances can cost quite a lot of money, but at least the insurance covers some of that. If the ambulance goes to a university hospital the bill will be a little bit higher, so in case of anything, you can ask them to go to a normal hospital. Knowing Korean is always a plus in these cases because you can communicate with the ambulance EMTs and doctors easily. If you go to the emergency room you should have enough cash on hand (at least W500,000-W1,000,000), as certain hospitals only accept specific credit cards. However, most hospitals include ATM machines, some of which allow you to access your personal account. Emergency rooms are pretty expensive so we recommend you to go to a clinic beforehand, sometimes the small hospitals or clinics will be a better option and a cheaper one. We hope this article has helped you and given you a basic knowledge of where to go for certain problems!

In Korea, there are several ways to send packages, one of the easiest and of course closest to your home is to go to the convenience store. CU and GS25 have partnerships with other delivery services and you can send your packages from there very easily. Just go there, and use their machines to send. Some of them ask you to make an account, some don’t. Choose the correct options and go for it. The advantages are that these stores are everywhere and they work 24h per day, you just have to check the ones close to your home. The delivery will be made every day in the morning and evening around 8 o’clock. 1. CU Convenience Store Nowadays you don't need to have a membership, you can make one and make a reservation in advance, or use it to check the parcel, however it is not mandatory. Not all CU has a delivery service, so you must find the branches that have Postbox in advance by entering the residence address on the search page. You must pack the goods before bringing them to CU. The service of s ending items from CU to CU (끼리택배) is used in case you do not want to publish your home address. However, if the receiver does not pick it up within 7 days, the item will be returned to the shipping address. This service is cheaper but takes more time. 2. GS Convenience Store The shipping method at the GS store is similar to that of CU. You just need to register online on GS Postbox and bring your items to a GS branch that provides this service. The GS25-to-GS25 service is called (반값택재), works the same, cheaper but a little bit longer and the person needs to pick it up from the GS25 that you choose when you send the package. Most of the above services have a price starting with 4,000 KRW/kg (besides if the person goes and picks it up himself/herself from CU or GS - that may start from 1,500 KRW/kg). * Convenience Stores don’t have boxes, tape, or scissors, so make sure you go with them together or prepare your package in advance at home. This is the easiest method to send your packages in Korea, from close to home and cheap. The only disadvantage is preparing your package and also using the service only in Korean.
