How to Obtain Business Registration Certificate and Set Up Login Access via HomeTax

1. What is a 사업자등록증?


The 사업자등록증 is your official Business Registration Certificate, issued by the National Tax Service (NTS) in Korea. It’s legally required if you plan to:

  • Open a sole proprietorship, corporate or business

  • Freelance or earn non-salary income (online sales, consulting, etc.)

  • Issue tax invoices

  • File VAT or income taxes as a business entity

Step 4: Fill in the Business Info

  • Choose 사업자 유형: 개인사업자 (Individual Proprietor)

  • Business name, address, type of business (업태/종목)

  • Upload supporting documents (PDF/JPG)

  • Processing time: typically 3–5 business days

4. How to Download 사업자등록증 (PDF) (works for all)

7. What If You Don’t Have a Card Reader or USB?


If you don't have physical storage for the 인증서:

The 사업자용 보안토큰 (Business Security Token) is a USB-type device or smartcard that stores your 사업자용 공동인증서 (business-use digital certificate). It provides a hardware-based secure login method used for:

  • Accessing HomeTax as a business

  • Filing VAT or 종합소득세

  • Issuing tax invoices (전자세금계산서)

  • Enhanced security for business owners and accountants

This is especially common for corporate businesses (법인) and sole proprietors handling large amounts of transactions.

How to Get a 사업자용 보안토큰
