If you use public transportation in Seoul, there's an important update you shouldn't miss!
Starting in July 2026, the Climate Card Plus (기후동행카드 플러스) is replacing the current Climate Card by combining it with the government's Everyone's Card (K-Pass). The new system is designed to automatically give you the best possible transportation benefits based on how much you spend each month.
Here's everything you need to know.
What is Climate Card Plus?
Climate Card Plus is Seoul's new public transportation pass that combines the unlimited ride benefits of the original Climate Card with the cashback system of K-Pass.
The biggest advantage? You don't have to choose which plan is better. The system automatically selects the option that saves you the most money every month.
New ₩100,000 Plus Pass
For commuters who frequently use express buses, metropolitan buses, and railways, there's a new ₩100,000 Plus Pass.
This option provides unlimited use of additional transportation services that weren't fully covered before, making it a better choice for long-distance commuters.

How Does It Work?
If you spend LESS than ₩62,000 per month
You'll simply pay for your transportation as usual and receive money back later.
Cashback rates:
Adults: 20%
Youth (13-39), seniors, and parents with two children: 30%
Parents with three or more children and low-income individuals: 50%
If you spend MORE than ₩62,000 per month
Instead of cashback, you'll automatically receive unlimited rides on eligible Seoul public transportation, just like the previous Climate Card.
No extra application is needed.
Who Can Receive the Benefits?
The reimbursement and discount benefits of Climate Card Plus are available to Seoul residents.
If you're already using Everyone's Card (K-Pass), you don't need to get a new card. Your benefits will be applied automatically.

Whether you're a student, office worker, or someone exploring Seoul every day, Climate Card Plus aims to make commuting simpler and more affordable.
